The biggest issue I have with the - high - chance that Yahoo! is going to try and change or shut down tumblr is: If they really end up destroying everything we’ve built here and grown into, if they really tear our home down, and leave us in the rubble - thinking they did a good thing. This site is filled with people who are isolated, full of anxiety, even head on suicidal in some cases, and most of the time, tumblr is the only thing they have to hold them down in a world they feel is out to get them. For all our in fighting, tumblr is the place we go to be understood and safe. If they break our home, there will be nothing left for a lot of those people to turn to.

I pray to god that the new owner of tumblr sees this post and understands what I’m trying to say here. I don’t dislike her, or wish her any form of ill will - but she needs to take to heart that this site is more than just a place we share pictures and talk about our favourite shows. This is all some of us have and she can send people to the edge, just by changing it.

This is just the most beautiful, honest thing I have ever read on this site. The word needs to be spread. Please reblog.

Please, Yahoo needs to see this and understand what they’re getting themselves into before they do something they shouldn’t with tumblr.
